Who Is Waxing Me Pretty

Who Is Waxing Me Pretty

Never heard of Waxing Me Pretty before or not sure what we stand for?

Founded in 2014 by Anju Bedi, Waxing Me Pretty has a mission to provide high-quality waxing treatments to every female in a professional and clean environment. Waxing Me Pretty has a particular expertise in the delicate art of female intimate waxing in Cheltenham.

Wouldn’t Life be Great if You Had Smoother Skin with Minimal Effort?

Imagine if you never had to worry again about coarse, thick, itchy stubble or shaving rash on your legs, around your bikini line and under your arms? Wouldn’t it be lovely to be able to enjoy that feeling of soft, smooth, hair-free skin for weeks on end as opposed to days (or even hours) – after you’ve shaved?

If you’re someone who regularly removes your unwanted body hair, you’ve probably considered other options. Problem is, laser hair removal is so expensive, especially considering that it doesn’t usually last forever. Hair removal creams can burn your skin – and smell awful! And razors – well, the less said about them the better! They leave you with fast-growing and uncomfortable stubble, even MORE hair than you started off with, as well as embarrassing and unsightly shaving rashes.

Waxing is a great solution because it takes far less time, is affordable, and helps you achieve finer, softer, hair so that you never have to deal with itchy stubble again.

Feel the Difference a Specialist in Waxing Makes

Our flawless waxing treatments will leave you looking and feeling your best and have you coming back for more.

Our Mission Is To Make You Feel Comfortable & Confident In Your Own Skin

Imagine a waxing experience that’s as comfortable as possible, both physically and emotionally. An experience that doesn’t just end when you leave your appointment, but that helps to set you in a routine that will give you the best possible hair removal results over time.

Our hygienic studio in Cheltenham staffed by an expert, caring, and non-judgemental waxing therapist who use the very best products available on the market for waxing treatments.

Combined with their unrivalled expertise in waxing techniques (especially when it comes to the delicate art of female intimate waxing), this is a formula for waxing success! That’s why we have so many happy, repeat customers who trust us with removing their hair.

Why Settle For A Generalist Beauty Salon When You Can Have A Smoother, More Comfortable Experience At Waxing Me Pretty? What Sets Us Apart From Other Salons?

We specialise in waxing treatments for women

Rather than spread ourselves too thin by offering every beauty treatment under the sun, we’ve perfected the art of quick, minimally-painful waxing.

We go above and beyond to help you achieve the results you desire

We understand that waxing is a process and that you need to follow a certain routine to get the best possible results. That’s why our helpful therapists advise you on aftercare products to use and practices to follow to get the longest-lasting smooth skin.

So why do we do what we do? Simply because we want to give you the confidence that comes from looking and feeling your very best.

And why should you wax, you may well ask? There is only ever one answer to that, which is that it’s your body and you can wax if you want to! If you want it all off, we’ll take it all off. If you want to keep it all on and just have a little tidy up around the sides, that’s cool with us too.

If you like your legs hairy and your underarms smooth, we can do that and if you’ve got no problem with your hairy moustache we acn do that.

So whatever you have – or haven’t got – going on down there – or anywhere else – and whatever shape, size, gender or type you are, rest assured that no one at waxing me pretty cheltenham will ever judge, balk or be fazed. All we want, when all said and done, is to help make you feel better about yourself.

So now you know a bit more about who waxing me pretty is and why we do what we do.

You Name It, We’ve Waxed It

Unwanted body hair (especially in intimate and private areas) can be a sensitive topic. It’s perfectly natural to feel shy, embarrassed, or scared when exposing your body to someone you don’t know. That’s where the unique skills of our highly-trained, kind, and compassionate waxing specialists come in. Our therapists will put you at ease with their expert, non-judgmental, and professional approach to treatments.

We’ve been removing hair from all body parts for people of all ages, sizes, ethnicities, and genders (no matter how you identify!) for many years now.

Unlike generalist beauty salons you may have tried before, at waxing me pretty, waxing is what we do all day, every day.

Our clients tell us how comfortable they feel from the moment they step into our spotless studio and meet our
friendly and welcoming staff. You’ll be delighted by how efficient yet thorough your therapist is at removing
your hair with minimal pain and minimum fuss. All while treating you with complete dignity and respect.

For Pain-Free And Successful Waxing, Consistency Is Key

You wouldn’t expect immediate results from a single session at the gym. In the same way, you need to gradually train your hair into a regular growth cycle to get the best out of waxing both in terms of minimising pain and staying smoother for longer.

That’s why we guide you through 4 appointments over 4 months with the Wax Virgin Programme. Once you start to follow a routine, your hair does too. And once your hair growth cycle is in a good routine, you will start to stay smoother, for longer, in between appointments. That’s why if you want to enjoy smooth, hair-free skin for as long as possible in the summer, we recommend you follow a regular waxing routine all year round.

Another huge benefit of regular waxing is that it hurts less the more you do it! Trust us – waxing 4 to 5 week regrowth is quicker and hurts far less than waxing 6 to 8 week regrowth.

Don’t Let Previous Waxing Experiences Get You Down

If you’ve had a waxing experience in the past that was unbearably painful or gave bad results (like noticing hair growing back too quickly or suffering from ingrowns), it was likely due to inferior techniques, products or aftercare advice.

At waxing me pretty, our therapists use the correct type of wax for the type of hair being removed and are skilled at pulling hairs from the root, not just snapping them at the surface. We also teach you the best ways to keep your open hair follicles clean post-wax and advise you on aftercare practices and products to use at home for the best results.

So there you have it, If you have anything else at all that you’d like to ask us prior to your first time at Waxing Me Pretty, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch, either by calling us on 07544563471 or by email: hello@waxingmeprettycheltenham.com Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you for your first wax very soon!

Everything you need to Know About Waxing. Just in time for bikini season.

Everything you need to Know About Waxing. Just in time for bikini season.

ALL THE SHAPES AND CONFUSING SALON LINGO, EXPLAINED FROM WAXING ME PRETTY CHELTENHAM.

FROM A LANDING STRIP TO AU NATURAL, OUR FRONT FLUFF IS A THING TO BE CHERISHED. HERE'S HOW TO HAVE SOME FUN WITH YOURS, IF YOU FANCY.

It's easy to get confused by all the different INTIMATE wax styles and salon lingo. But don't worry, because we're making things so much simpler.

Now you can find out what all the names, shapes and techniques mean, plus you get to see 'em recreated in glittery sequin style.

1 Au natural - Before we get all waxy with ya, let's be clear, there is nada wrong with leaving things down there 100% au natural. There's no pressure to play around with your pubes if you don't want to, but if you do, these are some of the best styles and shapes to try...

2 Basic Bikini - Ideal for a first time waxer, the basic bikini line touch up is exactly as the name would suggest, a tidy up around the edges. A good option if you want to keep things on the natural side, but prefer a little more definition. Hair is removed from anywhere outside of a modest panty line - so around the tops of thighs and any hair above your knickers.

3 Extended bikini - Similarly to the above, the extended bikini wax is still nice 'n' natural, but with a little more of a neaten up around the top and sides of your pubes. This is usually referred to as a extended bikini line on most salon menus. You can keep your knickers on when you have this one done.

4 G String - A G string wax differs from other styles like a Brazilian as most of the hair is taken from around the front, sides and back, but the middle (labia) is left alone. If you want down there to be smooth and clean of hair, without feeling too bare, a g string wax is the way to go.

5 Brazilian wax - Brazilian waxes are one of the most popular options when it comes to primping ya pubes. Unlike the G string version, when you go Brazilian they take the hair off the top and sides of the bikini line, but also all the way under and around the back, too. (Yep, that means around your bum). If you want to feel totally smooth and hairless, go Brazilian. The shape of the hair at the front is totally up to you, but the landing strip is a classic option. Other popular shapes include a tiny triangle and a postage stamp, but feel free to ask for whatever style you prefer.

6 The Hollywood - The Hollywood. This leaves you with no hair, nothing, nada, zip, zero… catch our drift? So be prepared to take your knickers off and don't be embarrassed to get into some yoga-esque poses so your waxer can get everywhere, remember it's nothing they haven't seen before.

SUMMER WILL BE HERE SOON. SO MANY OF US ARE TRYING TO GET OUR BODIES SOFT, SMOOTH AND HAIR-FREE. THE PROBLEM IS THAT NO HAIR REMOVAL METHOD IS WITHOUT ITS DOWNSIDES - SHAVING DOESN'T LAST LONG ENOUGH.

IN OUR SEARCH FOR A PAIN-FREE HAIR REMOVAL SOLUTION FOLLOW THE GUIDE BELOW.

Why can waxing be painful?
There can be several reasons for a painful waxing experience such as a therapist who has not been properly trained, using the incorrect type of wax on an area or not prepping the skin. The way the wax is applied is a key factor in how much pain a person will experience. Also it is very important to remove the wax correctly and for the therapist to apply pressure on the area once the wax is removed, which will help minimise the pain a client might feel.

The big waxing no-no!
Some salons use strip wax in sensitive areas, which is a complete no-no. Avoid at all costs. Only use hot wax for the sensitive areas. In fact, It’s a more pliable wax that is easier to work with as it does not break and is super gentle on the skin. It contains special soothing and calming properties that makes waxing completely gentle.

Why is waxing better than other forms of hair removal?
Waxing is cheap and it is actually a very pleasant experience. It stunts the hair growth. It is quick and you can instantly be hairless.

Are you very anti-shaving?
Yes I am very anti-shaving. I always find even after just one shave, clients have much stronger hair growth, which makes waxing more painful.

What’s your advice for people who have never tried waxing before?
Go to a qualified and experienced waxing therapist. Find out if they are using a quality wax. Make sure they use only hot wax for sensitive areas, such as the face, intimate areas and underarms. Also find out what they use before and after waxing. They should use specific pre and post waxing lotions.

What causes ingrown hairs?
Various things can cause ingrown hairs. Once a hair is removed from the follicle, the hair grows back and by the time the hair grows to the skin surface, the follicle can be blocked by dead skin cells. As the hair grows back with a point, it is a weaker hair, so it may not be able to push through the skin surface. In this case the hair might grow back downward within the follicle and become an ingrown hair. If this happens, the hair is then a foreign body in the follicle, simply because it did not grow out through the skin and it can get infected.

How can we prevent them? Exfoliate, exfoliate, and exfoliate! Exfoliating your skin is the best way to prevent ugly bumps and stubborn ingrown hairs; before and after your wax. There are many ways to exfoliate but at Waxing Me Pretty, we feel that dry exfoliating works the best! Using a dry or slightly damp soft-bristled brush, gently move in a circular motion around the waxed area. This is a great and aggressive way to remove dead skin cells, rejuvenate and renew the skin. This should be done before your wax and two days following your wax, as your skin will be a little sensitive.

WELL, UNLIKE MOST BEAUTY SALONS WHICH COULD BE CONSIDERED JACKS OF ALL TRADES BUT MASTERS OF NONE, WAXING ME PRETTY WAXING THERAPISTS DEVOTE THEIR ENTIRE DAYS TO HAIR REMOVAL.

OUR SPECIALIST SKILLS MEAN THAT YOUR WAXING ME PRETTY WAX WILL BE QUICKER, CAUSE YOU LESS DISCOMFORT AND GIVE YOU BETTER RESULTS THAN WAXES FROM GENERALIST BEAUTY SALONS, WHICH DO NOT TYPICALLY EMPLOY EXPERTS.

FURTHERMORE, WE’LL MAKE SURE THAT YOU GET THE BEST RESULTS FOR WEEKS AFTER YOUR TREATMENT THANKS TO THE DETAILED AFTERCARE ADVICE YOU WILL RECEIVE FROM OUR FRIENDLY AND KNOWLEDGEABLE THERAPIST.

It’s my Body and I’ll Wax if I Want To

We recognise that for many of our clients, having unwanted hair on certain body points is an extremely sensitive and emotive issue. Therefore, while we like to have fun with our business and our branding where we can, we also take the issue of hair removal extremely seriously. We take pride in the sheer professionalism that all of our therapist show and the compassionate, non-judgmental approach every single one of them takes to waxing.

Why should you wax, you may well ask?

The answer to that is very simple. It’s your body and you can wax if you want to! You should never wax, on the other hand, because someone else (or society) expects you too. And we’re not going to tell you that having a wax is cleaner, more hygienic, or give you a list of any other reasons why you should have one, because we don’t believe in that stuff.

This means that if you want it absolutely all off, we’ll take it all off. If you want to keep it all on and just have a little tidy up round the sides, that’s cool with us too. If you like your legs hairy and your underarms smooth, we can do that, and if you’ve got no problem with your moustache but want an Hollywood / Brazilian, then that’s what we’ll happily provide. And you can rest assured that whatever you have (or haven’t got) going on down there – or anywhere else – and whatever shape, size, or type you are, no one at Waxing Me Pretty will ever judge, balk or be fazed.

All we want, when all is said and done, is to help make you feel good about yourself.

Choose a skilled waxer. All salons offer waxing but not all of them do it well. An intimate wax should not be intimidating or painful. Go to a therapist who has had specific training - shockingly most therapists have had no proper training in intimate waxing.

At Waxing Me pretty we are professionally trained in intimate waxing to industry standards. Recognised and accredited from BABTAC as award winning waxing experts in female body waxing and intimate waxing with qualification and certificates available.

Warning  / Alarm bells! If you experience any of the following at your waxing salon this is not acceptable! Any discomfort or absolute agony during or 3 days after your waxing service, rip skin, bleeding vagina, blood in your knickers, burnt, blistering sore skin. This is all unacceptable. If this is what you experience go elsewhere. You do not need to experience this from an professional intimate waxer.

You should not have to ask for thoroughness - experts do this everyday so just leave the intimate waxing to them.

So there you have it, If you have anything else at all that you’d like to ask us prior to your first time at Waxing Me Pretty, then please don’t hesitate to get in touch, either by calling us on 07544563471or by email: hello@waxingmeprettycheltenham.com Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you for your first wax very soon!

Pregnancy Waxing is safe

Pregnancy Waxing is safe

You might be wondering, if pregnancy waxing is safe. Yes, with WAXING ME PRETTY CHELTENHAM. You are totally safe.

There is no evidence that waxing is unsafe during pregnancy. But it is really important that you cooperate with us and follow our advice.

The benefits of intimate pregnancy waxing.

Avoiding shaving rashes and cuts from razor

Avoiding being shaved by midwife at the hospital

First things first…
Please note that we only perform pregnancy intimate waxing between 12 weeks and up to 38 weeks of pregnancy due to insurance policy restrictions.

Post pregnancy.

Question: I’ve just had a baby, when can I have my next intimate waxing treatment?

Answer: This is a very common question asked by soon-to-be and new mothers. The most important factor before any treatment is done is that you are comfortable and that the treatment chosen is suitable for the moment. In some cases it may be better for you to wait a little longer before having the treatment. It is so important to acknowledge your concerns and also let you to decide if you want to wait a little longer before having your first treatment. Your comfort and trust is vital in ensuring that you continue to have a positive waxing experience. As for when you can have your first intimate waxing post-pregnancy depends on the type of birth.

If you had a natural birth, it is generally safe to have the first intimate wax after eight (8) weeks from giving birth. This includes all the types of intimate waxing, from a classic bikini to a Hollywood. Eight (8) weeks generally allows the new mother to have a good time to recover and heal.

If you had a C-section, it is also possible to have the first intimate wax eight (8) weeks after giving birth. Extra care is needed when working near and around the area of the scar. And because hair does not grow on scars, it does not need to be touched. In all cases, we will maintain a continual dialogue with you during the treatment to check how you are feeling and if there is any unusual discomfort.

If you have had a tear or episiotomy during childbirth, it is advised to wait six until it’s fully healed before committing to a full Hollywood wax (all off). In order to do a full intimate wax like a Hollywood, the scar needs to be fully healed and not cause you any issues. In the meantime, you can have a bikini and extended bikini wax if need be.

Are you a one-off waxer? The benefits of regular wax treatments.

Are you a one-off waxer? The benefits of regular wax treatments.

As specialist waxing therapists, here at Waxing Me Pretty CHELTENHAM. We believe waxing isn’t something you do now and again as a luxury, it should be part of your body maintenance routine,

it’s certainly not just a vanity thing. We believe it makes you feel better, inside and out – knowing how good we look underneath makes us all feel more confident on the outside.

We all wax for different reasons. Some of us are all for a regular wax, others are more for occasions such as holidays, weddings etc.  but we believe regular waxing has many benefits. From the physical effect of softer, smoother skin for longer, without the need of shaving to the mental effects of feeling more confident in yourself. Some people wax as part of their beauty regime, some for more medical or medicinal reasons.

Those who have excessive hair growth on certain parts of their body can suffer from low self-esteem. A regular wax can rectify this and leave the customer feeling more confident in their appearance. Please do talk to us if your waxing needs are of a more sensitive nature. We will help you plan a course of treatment to suit your individual needs.

Also becoming a regular wax er reaps its own rewards! Each time you get waxed, more hair is brought into line in the same growth cycle, as the hair is removed, resetting it back to the growth stage. After that second or third regular treatment, when all your follicles are towing the line and pushing the hair out at the same time, you’ll find your treatment leaves you smoother than ever before and for longer.

Further benefits of a regular wax include:

  • Less discomfort. You’ll also find that more hairs will have passed the early growth stage where they’re clinging on for dear life, which means they come out more easily and don’t cause as much discomfort.

  • Regular waxing can reduce the length of hair growth over time. Some people find that after regular waxing their hair growth is disrupted, shortening the growth cycle and resulting in shorter or finer hairs. An added bonus if you couldn’t keep up with your waxing!

And you must NEVER, EVER shave between waxes. Shaving in between waxes means hair at different growth cycles isn’t removed by waxing, undoing all that hard work you put in to get your follicles to fall in line.

Finally, as our regular was customers at Waxing Me Pretty will already know – booking regular treatments with us benefits you in your pocket, as we have various offers for customers who visit us on an ongoing basis.

Waxing vs Shaving

Waxing vs Shaving

Each process has its benefits (obviously we have a particular preference).

but let’s take a look at why waxing beats shaving when it comes to comparing each process…

Waxing removes dead skin cells
Waxing not only removes hair, it also exfoliates your skin. When you pull out the wax from your skin, it takes away dead cells and leaves a brand-new layer of skin. This is why the body or face feels so smooth after waxing.

Long-lasting results

Shaving doesn’t entirely remove hair, it just cuts off the hair shaft, which is only the visible part of the hair on the surface of the skin. But hairs are much longer than that; they grow from the hair follicle deep in the dermis (layer of skin below the epidermis). That’s the reason why after shaving, fuzz grows back so quickly, in just one-week hairs are visible again. On the other hand, waxing does remove hairs from the root; therefore, it takes a lot longer for hairs to grow back!

Hairs might cease to grow
Waxing mercilessly pulls hairs out from the root; this action weakens the hair follicles, and therefore, hairs grow back but are less strong. Over time, if you wax on a regular basis, hairs might actually stop growing because the hair follicle is too damaged to work properly.

Hairs grow back thinner
Given that waxing weakens the hair follicles, sometimes hairs start to grow much thinner, and they become easier to pull out – the procedure even gets less painful!

Smoother outcome
The final result after a waxing session is much smoother and attractive than any other kind of shaving method, especially because the hair is pulled out from the root.

No more itching
Itchy legs, armpits, or pubic areas are a common problem for women and men even right after shaving. With waxing, this could be prevented by using the crème de la crème of all waxes from product manufacturer who have over 30 years of innovation. We use the only hot wax and strip wax worth taking your clothes off for. Our wax is suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive. We believe that using vegan ingredients which are healthier, more natural, rich in active ingredients and free from chemicals are healthier for our bodies.that are made to treat and prevent side effects.

No more cuts
You can say goodbye to razors and unintentional cuts on your skin. When shaving, you can seriously harm yourself when the blades are too sharp or if you’re not paying attention to what you’re doing.

Fast yet better results
We won’t lie, shaving will always be the fastest way to remove hair, and you can get hairless legs, for example, in just ten minutes. However, waxing doesn’t require much time either, and for the little extra time you’re spending, you will get much better results.

The complete guide to body hair.

The complete guide to body hair.

We’re exploring how we came to have body hair and how to remove it, if you so choose.

Did you know there are approximately five million hair follicles on the human body? And each one of those follicles serves a number of significant roles when it comes to the overall function of the human anatomy.

So why exactly have we been removing our body hair for the last few hundreds of years? Well, you can chock that up to societal and cultural norms.

To learn more about the fascinating origin of body hair, its true purpose, and why it occurred to us to get rid of it in the first place. if you so choose. Either way, after reading the below you’ll never look at your body hair the same way again.

The Origin of Body Hair.

Now, before we talk about the what of body hair, we have to speak to the why. Why do we have body hair? Well, to answer that, we have to go back to the beginning. Millions of years ago, the ancestors of human beings were covered in hair. The reason for this was due to a number of functional purposes.
Body hair keeps mammals warm. It protects their skin from a lot of external influences, from abrasion, from water, from chemical attack, all sorts of things, Hair is really, really useful. Most mammals, including our closest relatives, and the chimpanzee, are covered in hair. So for us to not have much body hair now is pretty noteworthy.

At what point in time did humans begin to lose hair? The short story, is that we lost most of our body hair probably beginning around two million years ago due to the adoption of an active lifestyle. “Our ancestors were not couch potatoes they weren’t just sitting around or hanging around in trees in a pretty sick burn on the bonobo. “They were active, walking, running, really, really active creatures, And with all of that activity, plus the steamy climate in equatorial Africa, where our ancestors came from, they built up a lot of body heat. So what happened, and this was such a cool transition, is that we see our skin becoming increasingly more naked,” she says. “Instead of being covered with body hair, it's covered with more and more sweat glands that help us lose heat through the evaporation of sweat.”

We lost our body hair over a half a million-year period, evolving from fairly hairy beings to almost completely hairless ones, with the exception of a few areas.

Why do we have body hair?

Today, we have an estimated five million follicles of hair on our bodies from our scalp to our pubic area to our toes that we have today. You're born with all of them. You don't develop more as you get older.

While you may not grow more hair as you age, the hair that you do have and its distribution changes over time. For example, when babies are born, they’re often covered in soft peach fuzz called lanugo that eventually falls off. As you get older, your hair matures and differentiates depending on where it is on your body.

For instance, pubic and underarm hair, as well as the hair on your head, is known as terminal hair, which is noticeably stronger and thicker than the rest of the hair on the body. The lighter, thinner hair, found over most of the rest of your body is what’s known as vellus hair.

However, thanks to hormones, vellus hair can transform into terminal hair as you get older. You have vellus hair and then you go through puberty, when you have a lot of androgens or testosterone. Hormones change the hair follicle to grow hair that's coarser and thicker.” A classic example of this is when a young boy has light-coloured hair on his face, but after reaching the age of puberty, his facial hair becomes thicker and more noticeable.

But going back to why we have hair in specific places in our bodies is actually quite fascinating. For example, the most significant reason for the hair on our heads is to regulate our brain’s temperature. We have these really big brains, and in order to keep them cool, we need to keep our whole body temperature within a fairly narrow window. It turns out that especially really curly hair is remarkably effective at protecting the scalp and the brain from excess heat, and it also allows the evaporation of sweat very efficiently. So it’s this remarkable, important structure.

Along with the hair on our heads, you’ve probably noticed it densely grows in a few key places on the body: the underarms, the pubic region, and the eyebrows. Underarm and pubic hair may have stuck around because they helped disperse odour molecules.

Today, most of us try to get rid of all of this odour that's produced in our armpits and in our pubic regions. But those odour molecules, at least some of them, are really important for communication about our reproductive status and our attractiveness.

Eyebrows, on the other hand, provide an entirely different purpose than that of underarm or pubic hair. “Our eyebrows allow our expressions and moods to be determined or communicated from one person to another, even at a great distance.

And what about the hair you can’t noticeably see on the body? Just know it’s still there and its function is substantial. There are tiny, tiny, tiny hairs coming out of hair follicles all over our body. These turned out to be remarkably important for us because they allow our skin to heal properly they are little repositories of stem cells, which help us to heal our wounds.

To note, while the majority of your body is covered in these minuscule hairs, there are three areas of your body that don’t grow hair: your palms, your soles, and the red of your lips. Oil glands are attached to hair follicles. In these three areas, however, you can have glands that produce sweat but don't necessarily produce sebum, So you'll never get pimples on your palms and soles.

As for your lips, we don’t grow hair there because our lips are made up of “a different type of cell,” as they’re considered to be an extension of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract.

The History of Body Hair Removal.

If having hair is so crucial to the function of our bodies, why have we been removing it for hundreds of years? Well, we have no one to blame but ourselves. “We have, through communication with one another, established a globalised practice of removing hair to make women especially look very smooth and have baby-like skin; and for men to retain their body hair. We tend to think, ‘Oh, these signals are very ancient. These practices are very ancient.’ They're not. This is a pretty recent obsession. The practice of body hair removal started about only 500 years ago.

While modern societal standards of what femininity and masculinity are still very much linked to hairiness or lack of hairiness, we’ve begun to see a shift in the acceptance and normalisation of body hair, thanks in part to social media, which has even helped us celebrate body hair for the first time. (Remember #freeyourpits?)

It's really wonderful when people examine those social norms and say, hold on, who started this? This is a bunch of nonsense, And they realise, ‘Hey, I can be a beautiful person inside and out without following these practices.’ It is tremendously liberating.

The Bottom Line.

Body hair is a natural, functional part of the human anatomy. Whether you choose to embrace it or remove it, your body hair — and what you do with it — is entirely up to you.

Waxing Does Not Need To Be Painful

Waxing Does Not Need To Be Painful

Yes, really!

Summer will be here soon. So many of us are trying to get our bodies soft, smooth and hair-free. The problem is that no hair removal method is without its downsides - shaving doesn't last long enough, and waxing can be painful.

Here’s a rundown of what the process is like:

First, yes, you have to strip your lower half bare. While some places keep disposable undies on hand for regular bikini waxes, they just get in the way for a Brazilian wax or Hollywood wax.

Now, as to how much and where the hair will be removed. Some places call different styles different things, but basically you have 2 options:

1. Brazilian - Going for a little “landing strip” which means you have just a bit left right down the centre.

2. Hollywood - Going totally bare. It’s up to you. Just let your wax therapist know your preference upfront.

And that’s it! Total time: Anywhere from about 30 - 40 minutes.

Our speciality is Brazilian & Hollywood waxing. We use the only finest best quality hot wax. Trained by the best in the business. Having a Brazilian wax / Hollywood wax for the first time can be quite daunting, I promise the results are more than worth it! One Brazilian wax / Hollywood wax and you will be hooked.
